Privacy policy

Effective 28 October 2026

Shade Shaker collects no data of any kind. Nothing you make or do in the app leaves your device.

The app

Shade Shaker has no analytics, crash reporting, ads or accounts, and it makes no network requests. It works fully offline, and none of the software it's built with sends anything either.

What stays on your device

Deleting your data

Anything you delete in the app is removed from its folder. To remove everything, delete the app. On Windows, uninstalling it removes its folder too. On a Mac, the folder can stay behind after the app is deleted; you can remove it yourself from ~/Library/Containers/com.xgeno.shadeshaker.

The clipboard, the screen and your pictures

The app reads the clipboard only when you paste, and the screen only while you use the eyedropper to pick a color. On a Mac, the eyedropper is the system's own color picker, so the app never asks for screen recording permission. Pictures you open in From Image are read on your device to find their colors.

The app stores

Apple and Microsoft deliver the app, and their own privacy policies cover what they collect when you download it. They may show us totals, such as the number of downloads, that don't identify you. If you've allowed your computer to share analytics with app developers, Apple or Microsoft may also pass crash reports on to us. You can turn this off in your system's privacy settings.

This website

shadeshaker.app sets no cookies, runs no analytics and loads nothing from other websites. The company that hosts it may keep standard server logs, such as IP addresses, to deliver pages and protect the site; we don't use them to identify anyone.

Emailing us

If you write to us, we use your email address and message only to reply to you.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
